The Working Party was born in 2011, back when Shopify was the underdog. A disruptive platform most Australian retailers had never heard of. Our co-founders, a design and technology expert and a fashion retail veteran, saw what others missed: the rare chance to finally build commerce experiences worthy of the brands behind them. We didn't hedge our bets. We went all in on Shopify when it wasn't the safe choice. That conviction changed everything.

More than a decade later, we've grown alongside the platform and the industry itself. What started as Australia's first Shopify agency became one of only four Platinum Partners across the entire Asia-Pacific region. We've watched eCommerce transform from simple storefronts to complex omnichannel systems, from strictly theme builds to headless architectures that redefine what's possible. Through it all, we've assembled some of the sharpest minds in eCommerce — senior strategists, designers and engineers who've dedicated their careers to mastering their craft.

What hasn't changed is our approach: partnerships first, always. Strategy that stays ahead of the curve. Design that refuses to compromise between brand and performance. Cal Wilson
CEO and Co-Founder

Cal Wilson is a design and technology leader, and co-founder of The Working Party, one of the first Shopify Plus agencies in the world. A specialist in digital transformation and customer experience, Cal brings together evidence-led strategy, creative craft and technical depth to help ambitious brands build and scale exceptional commerce experiences — working across high-profile fashion clients like KOOKAÏ, enterprise retailers like JB Hi-Fi, and growth-focused DTC brands like Farmers Pick and Aid Station.

Cal understands retail inside-out, having grown up in a family business focused on clothing retail and manufacturing. He developed as a creative professional through a strong freelance portfolio before sharpening his digital expertise across transformation and design systems projects for Westpac, ASIC, Transport NSW and Medibank. That blend of commercial grounding and technical rigour has defined his approach ever since.

Drawn to the dynamic, human-centred design that eCommerce demands, Cal has guided The Working Party's mission of building commerce experiences worthy of the brands behind them. He works with clients to distil complexity into clarity — turning ideas into purposeful, high-performing solutions built to last beyond launch. In doing so, he takes the agency beyond website development, forging long-term partnerships that treat eCommerce not as a channel to manage, but as a genuine expression of brand and business ambition.

Kelly Brown is a retail and eCommerce strategist, and co-founder of The Working Party — at the forefront of the Australian fashion, creative retail, and eCommerce industries for close to two decades. Alongside Cal Wilson, she has built Australia's leading Shopify Plus partner, trusted by iconic, market-leading brands like KOOKAÏ, JB Hi-Fi, Assembly Label, LEO LIN, Farmers Pick and The Good Guys to deliver custom UX/UI design, platform migration, and strategic optimisation that enhances their eCommerce presence with a focus on the two most critical aspects of online retail success: brand and revenue.

Prior to co-founding The Working Party, Kelly worked in-house for some of Australia's best-known fashion brands, including Herringbone, sass & bide and Temple & Webster. Across these roles, she gained experience spanning every facet of retail — eCommerce, store launches, buying, wholesale, international expansion, PR and overall business operations — building the kind of commercial breadth that few eCommerce strategists can draw on.

Since co-founding The Working Party in 2011, Kelly's creative vision and drive has been channelled into customer experience, creative retail, brand strategy and eCommerce-powered digital design and transformation. Adept at applying corporate strategies and design thinking to the dynamic demands of modern commerce, she balances continuous learning, market trends and intuition to navigate business growth and global industry change; helping brands translate ambitious retail visions into enduring digital experiences.

Head of Client Services

Liana Treadwell is Head of Client Services at The Working Party, bringing a client-first mindset and a deep understanding of commercial objectives to every engagement. With extensive eCommerce experience across leading Australian and New Zealand retailers, she works closely with clients to translate strategy into practical, high-impact outcomes — building the kind of trusted partnerships that deliver measurable, lasting growth.

Liana brings a well-rounded perspective to client services, shaped by a career spanning sales, advertising and multiple eCommerce and digital agencies. As a former Project and Delivery Manager, she developed a strong appreciation for delivery excellence across clients, partners and stakeholders. This is a foundation she builds on through Scrum certification and fluency across both Agile and Waterfall methodologies. The result is a proven track record of delivering complex initiatives on time and within budget.

As Head of Client Services, Liana oversees all aspects of the Client Delivery team, from project-based and retained engagements to ongoing optimisation and long-term client success. She leads her team to work seamlessly with clients and partners to define, plan and implement scalable growth strategies, consistently holding the bar high on delivery standards without losing sight of the commercial outcomes that matter most.
